Services designed to teach, enlighten, and change lives.
ABOUT MELANIE HOOD-WILSON AND ASSOCIATES

29 years of education experience
Melanie Hood-Wilson and Associates is a for-profit consulting company providing services designed to teach, enlighten, and change lives through teaching, learning, diversity, equity, and inclusion. As America strives to be a more inclusive nation, understanding differences and the importance of equity, many organizations are working to improve their cultural competency and increase the representation of communities of color, women, individuals with differing abilities, the LGBTQIA community, and those of diverse religious and national backgrounds.
Unlike most DEI organizations whose focus is on systems of oppression, we focus on changing personal and organizational behaviors and uniting communities. Melanie Hood-Wilson and Associates has been at the forefront of organizational training, accountability planning, DEI coaching, meeting facilitation, strategic planning, and education around race, culture, and ability, providing services for schools, non-profits, colleges, for-profit businesses, government agencies, and faith communities. Melanie Hood-Wilson and Associates began its service to organizations in 2019 and includes a team of five consultants who work in person and virtually alongside owner and principal consultant, Melanie Hood-Wilson, in working with organizations to develop strategies, build DEI action plans, and deliver quality professional development using diverse media and customized to the needs and goals of our individual clients.
MHWA’s consultants all represent traditionally marginalized communities and cultures. MHWA works to center the needs, expectations, and cultural norms of the diverse populations our clients serve. In work to further inclusion and equity, representation is key. To best understand how to meet the needs of diverse communities, organizations must have those who are members of those communities leading the development of strategies and initiatives. To that end, MHWA has a diverse team of consultants who are women, LGBTQIA, and/or individuals of color.
